Security Related Technologies

Matrix has experience as both advisors and investors in companies that specialize in security with a focus on preventing crime and saving lives through the application of new cutting edge technologies.

Unfortunately there is a strong correlation between natural resources and resource-related security and conflict challenges; this prompted Gary’s interest in understanding the connection between natural resources and security, particularly geopolitical risk, above ground risks and security related technologies.

Gary’s experience in new technology dates back to 2004 with projects associated with the UK Government military research park Porton Down and Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (“Dstl”), an Executive Agency of the Ministry of Defence (“MOD”). During this period he was primarily involved with security body scanning company “Thruvision” and other technology related companies including Enigma, Smart Holograms and many others.

Gary was awarded the Advanced Certificate In Terrorism Studies with the Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence (CSTPV) at the University of St Andrews University, UK.
